Twin Giggles & Tiny Feet: A First Responder Family Session at Restoration Ranch
When you’ve got three little girls under one roof—including a set of twins—you learn pretty quickly how to keep things moving. Snacks packed, shoes on (sort of), ponytails in place (or not), and lots of deep breaths. But what happens when you're also balancing shift work, long nights, and the weight of serving your community?
That’s real life for this beautiful family of five.
Dad’s a police officer, mom’s the glue that holds it all together, and these three girls? They brought so much laughter, dirt, and joy to their session, I could hardly keep up with them. (Not that I was trying—chaos is welcome here.)
We met at Restoration Ranch Colorado, a peaceful property in the foothills of Golden that’s dedicated to first responders. Wide open spaces, golden grass, and room to breathe—the perfect place to slow down and be present. It’s rare these days, I know. But this session felt like a soft exhale in the middle of a full life.
And yes, there were wild moments—chasing toddlers, taking off shoes, a bit of dirt. But there were also quiet ones: a quick glance between mom and dad, a kiss on a tiny forehead, three little girls giggling down the hill in a wagon without a care in the world. Those in-between frames? That’s where the magic lives.
As a family photographer in Golden, CO, I hear the same thing from so many parents: “Life is so busy. I know we need to take photos, but it never feels like the right time.”
Here’s the thing—it’s never the “right” time. The twins might be teething. The weather might be weird. You might feel like you’re running on fumes. But you’ll never regret documenting this messy, beautiful season before it changes again.
And if you’re part of a first responder family, you know more than most how fast everything moves. The shift changes, the holidays missed, the quiet pride that comes with serving others while raising little humans at home.
This session reminded me that photos aren't about perfection—they’re about presence. Being together, just as you are.
So if your camera roll is full of screenshots and blurry toddler selfies, maybe it’s time for something different. I’d love to help you slow it down for an hour—and capture it before it’s gone.
📸 Let’s plan a session at your house or favorite park—you bring the snacks, I’ll bring the camera.
