What a fantastic photo session with Duane, Andrea, and their 9-year-old son! It was so great to photograph this little close-knit family of three in Lakewood, Colorado.

Fall is so incredible for outdoor photoshoots in Colorado. You never know what we’ll get for weather! This day it was nearly 80 degrees! But they pulled off their long-sleeves like champs! And it was totally worth is since the fall colors in the Denver canopy this year were stunning. It was quite the dream getting to photograph those beautiful fall leaves still hanging on to the trees. 🍂

We had our fall photo session in mid-afternoon so we could get a variety of light. But when the sun made those beautiful shadows through the trees it was incredible.

The star of the show was their soon to be 10-year-old son! Andrea wanted to make sure this last year of single-digits was captured. His youthful energy and big personality made for some fantastic candid shots! 😄

This Colorado fall photo session was filled with laughter and playful moments.

But don’t tell the 9-year-old that love filled that warm Lakewood fall day! He’ll roll his eyes and cover his face if he has to hear about love! 😄

We had some posed shots, but there is something about capturing the authenticity of a family’s connection. It makes every single click on the camera worth it.

I am so glad I was able to capture this occasion in their family. These photos will help them remember their son during his last year before being a pre-teen and enjoy the warm afternoon we spent together.
